Terms & Conditions

Terms and Conditions

Notice to Leave

We require 4 weeks’ written notice if your child wishes to leave any TTW class.

Once a student joins, their enrolment is considered ongoing from term to term unless written notice is provided.

If a student leaves without providing notice, four weeks’ fees must be paid in lieu. Failure to pay any outstanding fees will result in referral to our solicitor for recovery of funds.

These conditions apply to all TTW students.

Private Lessons

Private lesson schedules are arranged at the start of each term.

If the teacher cancels, the lesson will be rescheduled or refunded.

If the student cancels with 48 hours’ notice, the lesson will be rescheduled or a credit issued.

If the student cancels with less than 48 hours’ notice, no rescheduled lesson or credit will be provided unless the teacher is able to offer one at their discretion (this is not guaranteed).

Monitoring Your Child’s Progress

Parents and guardians are welcome to discuss their child’s progress with our teachers or School Managers. Our staff are available for mentoring, guidance and career advice. Please speak to your School Manager to arrange a suitable time.

Discipline

We reserve the right to dismiss any student who behaves in a disruptive or inappropriate manner. This is rare, as our staff are experienced in creating a professional, inspiring and enjoyable learning environment.

We expect:

Good timekeeping

Consistent uniform compliance

Neat and organised folders containing all scripts and song lyrics

Excellent behaviour, especially on professional jobs

Our students work hard—but also have a lot of fun!

Privacy Notice

TTW retains student information provided on application forms for the duration of their time with us. This information is used to communicate TTW notices by email, SMS, or letter.

When a student leaves TTW, their details will be removed from our system unless otherwise requested.

TTW may share student information internally with School Managers, Chaperones and Teachers where necessary.

Late Collection

We understand that delays can happen and will always do our best to be flexible when unexpected situations arise. However, repeated late collections impact our schedule and the care we provide.

If you arrive more than 10 minutes past your agreed collection time, we will apply a late fee of £1 per minute from the 11th minute onward.

Frequent lateness may result in a review of your booking arrangements. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a smooth and reliable service for everyone.

Cancellation of Classes

If classes must be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances by The Theatre Workshop, we will endeavour to provide a replacement session. This may be delivered in person or in an alternative format such as online learning.

If a class cannot be rearranged in any format, a full refund will be issued.

Uniform Requirements

All students attending The Theatre Workshop must adhere to our uniform policy. The compulsory uniform items are:

The Theatre Workshop logo T-shirt

Black leggings or joggers

Black jazz shoes or jazz sneakers

Jazz shoes are required for all students as they provide safe and appropriate support for movement-based activities.

We supply jazz shoes, customised T-shirts and full uniform kits, which can be ordered directly through us.

Security and Child Protection

For safeguarding purposes, no student under the age of 16 will be permitted to leave the building unsupervised unless written parental permission has been provided.

Parents/guardians must drop off and collect their child from reception.

All staff members hold enhanced DBS certificates. All performances are supervised by licensed chaperones in accordance with Government Child Protection legislation for public performance venues.

Performances and Opportunities

We work hard to provide regular performance opportunities, often alongside industry professionals, in addition to weekly classes.

From time to time, students may also have the opportunity to participate in professional projects such as visiting theatre productions, radio plays, and other creative work. These opportunities are offered at the discretion of the Agency and your School Manager.

Occasional trips/workshops etc may also be arranged.

Agency Representation & Professional Work

Students may be invited to audition for our associated Agency after completing one term of training. Invitations are made at our discretion following class observations and discussions with teaching staff regarding a student’s potential.

The Agency makes all final decisions regarding which students they sign. If the Agency holds an audition workshop, the structure and content of the workshop will be determined solely by them.

The Agency may contact TTW for casting suggestions for specific auditions. TTW may recommend students regardless of whether they are represented by the Agency. Professional castings are also received directly by TTW, and we will put forward students whom we believe are suitable.

Photography, Filming & Social Media

The Theatre Workshop reserves the right to use photographs and video footage of past and present students for publicity, including on our website, printed materials, and official social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram).

If you do not wish your child to appear in promotional photography or filmed material, please select the relevant option on Class4Kids at registration. If a parent has specifically opted out, their child will not be included.

Chaperones

We ask that one parent or family member per household volunteers to become a licensed chaperone. There is either no cost or a small fee depending on your local authority.

Fees

All fees are payable in advance via our subscription service with Class4Kids.

Payments are taken during the first week of each month for 11 months, with no payment due in August.

Childcare vouchers may be used—please contact us to arrange this.

If a place is not currently available, the applicant will be placed on our waiting list, and we will contact you as soon as a place becomes available.
